Team USA sweeps moguls as Elizabeth Lemley wins Olympic gold

Americans delivered a statement performance in women’s moguls at the 2026 Winter Olympics on Wednesday, going one-two in Livigno.

Elizabeth Lemley won gold in her Olympic debut with 82.30 points. Jaelin Kauf followed with silver on 80.77, giving Team USA a dominant finish in one of freestyle skiing’s marquee events.

Elizabeth Lemley surges when it matters most

Lemley improved from her first final run to top the field in the super final. She scored 79.02 earlier, then raised the bar on her last run to take the title.

At 20, the Colorado skier’s win adds a major milestone to a comeback story. Lemley missed the 2024–25 Freestyle Ski World Cup season after tearing her ACL, then returned in time to become an Olympic champion.

Jaelin Kauf adds another Olympic medal

Kauf’s silver marked her second Olympic medal in moguls. She also won silver in the event at the 2022 Beijing Games.

On Wednesday, she stayed in contention through both final runs and finished just behind her teammate, continuing her run as one of the sport’s most consistent performers.

Bronze for Perrine Laffont as Jakara Anthony slips

France’s Perrine Laffont claimed bronze with 78.00 points.

Australia’s Jakara Anthony led after the first final, but a mistake in the second run dropped the defending Olympic champion to eighth. The late twist opened the door for the American one-two at the top.

Another U.S. silver earlier in the day

Team USA also celebrated a medal earlier Wednesday when Ryan Cochran-Siegle took silver in the men’s super-G.

By mid-day, the United States had already stacked medals across disciplines, with the moguls sweep providing the clearest highlight — a breakthrough gold for Lemley and a repeat podium finish for Kauf on one of the biggest stages in winter sports.
