Amber Glenn hits back at critics after Team USA’s Olympic gold

American figure skater Amber Glenn responded to online critics on Tuesday after helping the United States win gold in the Olympic figure skating team event in Milan.

Glenn returned to TikTok after stepping away from social media in recent days. She said she took a break because of hateful messages and threats that followed political comments she made ahead of the Winter Games.

In her TikTok post, Glenn shared photos with teammate Alysa Liu and aimed her caption at those who had attacked her online.

She wrote: “They hate to see two woke b—-es winning,” then defended what she meant by the term, framing it as advocacy for marginalized communities while representing the United States.

The remarks that sparked backlash

Glenn faced criticism after a pre-Olympics press conference in which she spoke about LGBTQ rights and said it had been a “hard time” for the community during the Trump administration.

She later said she was receiving what she described as “a scary amount” of hate and threats, and that she would limit her time online for her wellbeing.

The comments came during a high-profile week for Glenn on the ice. She was part of the U.S. squad that won gold in the figure skating team event at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan.

For now, Glenn is making clear she does not plan to stop speaking out. Her posts suggest she is balancing Olympic competition with public scrutiny, while insisting her platform matters as much as her results.
